Architecture Delft University of Technology (2023)
Carmen is a designer whose work considers architecture as a medium through which cultural narratives, collective imaginaries, and forms of social life are produced and made perceptible. Her practice is concerned with the reciprocal relationship between space and its inhabitants: how architecture registers cultural, political, and ecological conditions, while simultaneously shaping perception, behaviour, memory, personal emotional ties and relations.
Moving between the intimate scale of individual experience and the broader structures of society, her work examines the narratives embedded in the spaces we inhabit and the ways these narratives contribute to our understanding of reality and how that understanding has an effect on our ecosystems. She is particularly interested in the emotional and psychological dimensions of architecture, as well as in the cultural meanings and systems that accumulate within built environments over time.

She moves between architecture, art, research, and writing, informed by interests in philosophy, psychology, ecology, minimalism, literature, and socio-political thought. She is currently working towards architectural licensure.
